On January 28, I will be at Yerablur, I will whisper to your grave that I am enlisting in the Armenian army. Karin Tonoyan

The mother of Artsakh hero Menua Hovhannisyan, Karin Tonoyan, posted a photo from the family album on her Facebook page, addressing her son who died in the recent war in Artsakh. Tonoyan wrote:

“Do you remember, my son, how we used to celebrate this day a few years ago......... and now......

JANUARY 28 - A DAY TO PROMISE THE UNCONQUERABLE SPIRIT OF THE ARMENIAN SOLDIER AND THE VICTORY OF THE FUTURE

On that day at 13:00, I will be at Yerablur. No, I will not congratulate, I will not yet congratulate, I will only quietly whisper at your grave that I am enlisting in the Armenian army, as a private soldier of the mothers who have lost their children, and I will pledge to restore the pride and dignity of the Armenian army....

Later, with the fire of revenge for all of you — my 5000+ children — in my eyes, I will walk towards Republic Square and join the new call of the Armenian people. And let anyone dare to distort the meaning of that day. I, your brother, your wife, your children, and the entire staff of the ‘Armenian Knight’ school you have built.... I will come to stand next to every Armenian who holds his homeland and Armenia in his soul.....

FROM SACRED GRAVES TO A NEW ARMY, A NEW LIFE, AND A NEW FUTURE
I CALL ON ALL ARMENIAN KNIGHTS, ALL OF YOU, LET US BE WORTHY FOR OUR CHILDREN.”
