The Lives of Armenian Prisoners Are at Risk in Azerbaijan: Tatevik Hayrapetyan
Tatėvik Hayrapetyan, a member of the “My Step” faction and an expert on Azerbaijan, announced on her Facebook page that the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has commenced today in Strasbourg, where the Armenian delegation is also participating. Most of the delegation is present in Strasbourg, while Naira Zohrabyan and Mikayel Melkumyan are participating remotely.
“During all discussions, the primary issue of prisoners of war and hostages is raised. There are also other issues, including war crimes, anti-Armenian policies, and the involvement of terrorists, which delegation members will address in their upcoming speeches. Today, I once again emphasized the urgency of the issue of prisoners of war during the discussions among political groups, citing the example that after the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) applied interim measures, one of the prisoners listed, Arsen Karakhanyan, was killed. This is an unprecedented phenomenon and once again confirms that the lives of Armenian prisoners are at risk in Azerbaijan,” Hayrapetyan wrote.
