Road Closures in Armenia Due to Weather Conditions
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia has reported that there are roads closed across the territory of Armenia. Closed are the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kari Lake. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, and the Shinuhayr-Harjnis road in Syunik province is difficult to navigate.
In Vayots Dzor province, there are patches of black ice on the Saravan-Zanger, Vayk-Saravan, Goris-Shurnukh, Sisian-Zanger, Sisian-Goris roads, and on the Vanadzor-Dilijan road in Lori province. In the town of Masis, Ararat province, there is fog.
As for the Lars situation, according to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. There is a backlog of about 500 trucks on the Russian side.
According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the restriction on the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to cargo transportation. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
