Rapid Construction of Individual Houses Launches in Artsakh

A trial housing program for fast-constructed individual houses has been launched in the Hovsepayan community of the Askeran region in Artsakh. This was reported to Armenpress by the Minister of Urban Development of Artsakh, Aram Sargsyan.

"In the first phase, five wooden individual houses will be constructed using light construction methods. The improved version of Finnish houses will have an area of 80 square meters, featuring 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Additionally, a yard of 1000 square meters is planned. The Ministry of Urban Development has ordered houses made of wooden materials in various models for the first phase. Accordingly, it will be determined which of these meets the climatic conditions and local requirements of Artsakh. Following the selected option, it is planned to construct more than 7,000 such houses over a period of approximately 3 years," the minister elaborated.

According to him, as of today, 4,300 applications have been registered with the Ministry of Urban Development regarding houses damaged due to the war. "About 2,000 applications have been processed so far. In addition, the restoration work on approximately 1,200 objects has been completed. Around 800 applicants have been provided with the necessary construction materials to carry out the renovations independently. Currently, construction work is ongoing on about 800 objects that were damaged due to the war," Sargsyan added.
