Ministry of Education Clarifies Spring Break and Academic Year End Dates

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia has outlined the dates for spring vacations and the end of the academic year, establishing non-standard regulations due to the coronavirus pandemic.

During a press conference held at the Armenpress headquarters, Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasian indicated that this year spring vacations are planned for first and second graders. The break for first graders is scheduled from March 22 to April 4, while for second graders it will be from March 22 to 28.

“No vacation is planned for other grades, considering the long autumn break. However, we regularly consult with our partners based on the health situation,” stated Zhanna Andreasian.

Regarding the end of the academic year, Andreasian noted that it will not be uniform across all grades. For the 12th graders, where there are final and unified examinations as well as further recruitment questions, the academic year will conclude on June 4. The year will also end early for first and second graders, whose academic term is shorter. Students in other grades will finish the year on June 18.
