From National Koc to Nardi: Sports Festival to be Held in Armenia and Artsakh

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia is organizing a sports festival aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population of Armenia and Artsakh, engaging youth in sports clubs, and conducting sports days in communities.

According to the regulations approved by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the festival will take place in the autumn across 48 locations in Armenia and the cities of Stepanakert and Askeran in Artsakh, with each location hosting events for one day.

Teams from urban and rural communities, educational institutions, sports schools, and other sports organizations can participate in the event, with competitions being held in 7 sports disciplines. Anyone interested can participate, with competitions conducted according to the current rules of athletics.

Preliminary schedule for the festival:

1. Kotayk Province – September 10-15 (cities of Hrazdan, Abovyan, Charentsavan, Nor Hachn, Tsaghkadzor, Byureghavan, Yeghvard, village of Garni)
2. Gegharkunik Province – September 11-15 (cities of Gavar, Chambarak, Martuni, Vardenis, Sevan)
3. Tavush Province – September 13-16 (cities of Ijevan, Dilijan, Noyemberyan, Berd)
4. Lori Province – September 14-18 (cities of Vanadzor, Alaverdi, Stepanavan, Spitak, Tashir, Akhtala, village of Gugark)
5. Shirak Province – September 15-19 (cities of Gyumri, Artik, Maralik, villages of Amasya, Ashotzk, Akhuryan)
6. Ararat Province – September 16-18 (cities of Armavir, Ejmiadzin, Metsamor)
7. Aragatsotn Province – September 16-18 (cities of Ashtarak, Aparan, Talin)
8. Ararat Province – September 17-20 (cities of Artashat, Ararat, Masis, Vedi)
9. Syunik Province – September 19-23 (cities of Kapan, Goris, Sisian, Kajaran, Meghri)
10. Vayots Dzor Province – September 22-26 (cities of Yeghengadzor, Vayk, Jermuk)
11. Artsakh – September 18-21 (cities of Stepanakert, Askeran)

After the festival concludes, the relevant commission of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport will select the communities that have secured 1st to 3rd places, which will be awarded certificates and trophies. Additionally, athletes securing 1st to 3rd places in individual sports disciplines will also receive awards.
