Azerbaijani Crew Member Killed in Attack on Turkish Ship

The MOZART ship, which was traveling from Lagos, Nigeria to Jeptown, South Africa, has been attacked by pirates. As a result of the incident, one crew member was killed, 15 were abducted, and three others remain on the ship with the pirates.

The deceased individual was an Azerbaijani. This information was reported by Ermenihaber.am.

The attack occurred in the Gulf of Guinea. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan later had a phone conversation with one of the captains of the attacked ship. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also responded to the incident, stating that necessary steps are being taken to secure the release of the abducted crew members.
