Australia to Spend $770 Million on Advanced Weaponry Development

The Australian government will allocate 1 billion Australian dollars (approximately $770 million) for the development of new naval weaponry, including long-range missiles and torpedoes. This was reported by Reuters, citing the country's defense ministry.

“As part of the modernization of Australia’s defense capabilities, we plan to equip the Royal Australian Navy with modern long-range anti-ship missiles, air-to-ground class missiles, torpedoes, and other armaments over the next decade to maintain control over the maritime areas near Australia's shores,” said Defense Minister Linda Reynolds.

According to her, “the new weaponry will serve as a deterrent, ensuring stability and security in the region.”
