Ara Abrahamyan Addresses Pashinyan: What Is Your Next Anti-Armenian Goal?

The President of the Union of Armenians in Russia, Ara Abrahamyan, made a post on his Facebook page addressing Nikol Pashinyan.

“Mr. Pashinyan, what is your next anti-Armenian goal now set before you? Four months have passed since the start of the Second Karabakh War, and your real motives and objectives are becoming clearer every day. People are forced to endure your lies and manipulations, which are designed to shift the responsibility for the shameful defeat and the current destructive processes onto anyone but you—who stands as the Supreme Commander and Head of State.

Today, in fact, you are standing in defense of Azerbaijan— a country that unleashed war against the Armenian people and won the war. Your speech in the National Assembly about Shushi was a clear confirmation of this. Your claims that 90% of Shushi's population are Azerbaijanis are yet another lie and manipulation, aimed only at justifying Aliyev's aggressive policies and legitimizing your own betrayal.

Why did you not remind everyone that for centuries the majority of the population in Shushi were Armenians? Did you not tell how and under what conditions the ethnic composition of this city changed? What ratio of Armenians and Azerbaijanis has been recorded in the long-term negotiations regarding Nagorno-Karabakh?

Why are you disinterested in the fate of the Armenian villages handed over to Aliyev, which are now populated by Azerbaijanis who never lived there before? Why do you not speak about how the ethnic composition of our region could change in the near future, on lands originally Armenian?

You are indifferent to the pain and suffering of the people, the fate of Armenia, and the condition of the diaspora, which has still not received an answer regarding the basis on which you have so demonstratively and inappropriately administered the charitable funds sent from various countries during the war.

Mr. Pashinyan, what is your next anti-Armenian goal now set before you? By displaying a lack of will where it is necessary to protect the interests of the state and the people and by signing any document imposed on you, you are zealously and by any means defending yourself and your entourage, who are responsible for the defeat in Artsakh and the actions that divide Armenia.

By doing everything possible to demoralize the country’s population and armed forces or by attributing to yourself the role of the ‘savior’ who stopped the war, or by terrifying the people with war, you are now playing a dangerous game with your main defender Aliyev and preparing the ground for a new war.

Because you did not want to stop the war in time, we lost thousands of lives and territories from both Artsakh and Armenia. And today, by supporting you and failing to stop you in a timely manner and curtail your powers, the members of the ‘My Step’ parliamentary faction share the responsibility for deepening the political and socio-economic crisis, for the loss of human lives and territories.

With your persistent desire not to leave, you are not only expanding the scope of issues for which you will have to answer to the people but also including new individuals within that framework, primarily all those who, according to the laws, could stop your anti-national and anti-state activities in Armenia but do not do so, thus becoming accomplices in the greatest deception and betrayal in our nation’s history.”
