Video: My 'Mansion' Is Nothing Compared to My Neighbors' Mansions, Says Gagik Jhangiryan
Your so-called 'my mansion' isn't in Monument. Moreover, there’s nothing mansion-like there; there are such mansions in the neighborhood that our home resembles a barn. This was stated by Gagik Jhangiryan, a candidate for the position of Supreme Judicial Council member, during a special session of the National Assembly, responding to MP Tahmukh Tovmasyan’s question about what means he used to acquire his home and businesses while always being in public office.
“Let me tell you, it was a garbage dump back then. The land that the municipality allocated to me was a garbage dump, and now it sticks out like a sore thumb,” he remarked. He also noted, “Andranik Kocharyan once criticized me for going into such detail about my apartment issue; he said I should mention that my three-story private house on Bagramyan Street was built in the late 80s to early 90s when I was not a public official. I sold it and constructed another one there.”
He mentioned that he sold that house to a Tbilisi-Armenian merchant and now doesn’t even know who lives there. “With that money, we demolished our old house and built our apartment in the same place,” he added.
