New Drone Manufacturing Plant Opens in Ankara
The Turkish defense industry company Lapis Havacılık has opened a new serial production facility for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Ankara. According to Turkish media, Lapis Havacılık has been involved in UAV production since 2015. The company also engages in the modification of these aerial vehicles.
During the launch, company director Osman Sevgin noted that in 2015, they produced a limited number of UAVs, but today they are capable of commencing serial production. He emphasized that their initial objective is to begin serial production of the Lap 60 helicopter-like UAVs, with all components being produced exclusively in Turkey.
