Around 2700 Individuals Have Not Received Compensation; Citizens Gathered in Front of the Ministry of Defense
Citizens who participated in the war have gathered in front of the Ministry of Defense, stating that they have not received their salaries. They are demanding clear information from the Ministry regarding when their salaries will be disbursed.
Partial volunteer David Hovhannisyan stated in a conversation with reporters, “We returned from the front line on November 30; the last time we were in the Lachin area, in a place referred to as Hell’s Gully. To this day, we have approached various bodies to obtain monetary compensation, but no one has provided a solution to our inquiry. One person said that our issue would be resolved in a day or two. I approached the government on December 30, two days prior to that I contacted the Ministry of Defense, and even earlier we approached our commanders. When we were not given a definite answer, we came to the ministry on December 28, where we were received by Colonel Ara Arakelyan, who said that at the latest, our funds should be compensated by December 30, but the money did not come on that date. I again contacted Arakelyan, and he said he was aware of the issue and had reported it,” he explained, citing that the problem is related to paperwork.
David Hovhannisyan also reached out to Prime Minister's assistant Nairi Sargsyan, who indicated that due to vacation days, their issue would not be resolved promptly, and that they would address it once the workdays commenced. “We are asking that someone at least approach us and explain why we have not yet been compensated. Our demand is also to specify a date when the funds will be available,” he noted.
According to the war participant, approximately 2700 individuals have yet to receive their compensation.
