46-Year-Old Man Wanted for Stabbing Has Been Found
The incident occurred last year in the village of Haykavan on the night of August 3. Two fellow villagers had gotten into a dispute while under the influence of alcohol. It is difficult to say what the argument was about, but one of them stabbed the other.
The police in the Armavir region were informed of the incident minutes later from the hospital. A nurse on duty reported that an ambulance had transported a 40-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest.
An operational group was dispatched to the hospital. However, the victim concealed the actual circumstances of the incident, claiming that the injury was the result of a fall. The nature of the injury, however, suggested otherwise, and his statements did not inspire confidence in the police.
Investigation officers who went to Haykavan managed to clarify both the circumstances of the incident and the identity of the 46-year-old suspect, at whose home the stabbing had occurred. A criminal case was initiated. However, the suspect was not located either that day or the following days.
On December 17, 2020, a wanted notice was issued for the 46-year-old man on charges of intentionally causing serious harm to health. Search operations continued.
Thanks to the diligent work of the Armavir police’s criminal investigation officers, the wanted man was found in the village of Haykavan on January 18 and was taken into custody. He has been arrested. An investigation is ongoing.
