We Will Do Everything to Establish New Rules of the Game in Politics: Artak Tovmasyan
The correspondent of NEWS.am contacted businessman and politician Artak Tovmasyan, asking him several questions regarding his active engagement in politics. However, he stated that it was not convenient to answer such questions at the moment since he was visiting Syunik. He promised to respond to the numerous accumulated questions in a broader context soon, yet still answered some of the correspondent's inquiries.
Today, the media published information regarding political disagreements between you and the leader of the 'Unity' movement, Arman Vardanyan. What do you have to say about that?
I do not have the habit of commenting on nonsense; I can only say that our ideological discussions are proceeding in a normal and positive manner.
Mr. Tovmasyan, the article in the press also mentioned that your participation in broader political processes was expected to involve significant financial resources, but that has not materialized.
This process is aimed at forming a new social-political platform that has emerged as a necessity from the Armenian people and a mandate of the times. We are trying to realize what has been proposed by the broader masses of society. As for financial resources, I regret that people consider financial components as crucial in ideological and nation-preserving activities. I am confident that the circles with whom I have met thus far have no financial expectations from this union and are even ready to invest their personal resources for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian nation.
For many years, engaging in politics in Armenia has been a means for many to earn money and live a lavish life, and that is one of the reasons why our nation and state find themselves in the current situation. We will do everything to ensure that there are new rules of the game in politics, involving people who love the country and are ready to subordinatetheir personal interests to the state and national interests of Armenia.
