We Have Withdrawn 9 km from Kapan: Mikayel Melkumyan

During a parliamentary briefing, Mikayel Melkumyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia faction, stated that they are retreating verbally, referring to the positions in Syunik. He noted, "Their positions in Goris were 26 km ahead—without any reason, we have withdrawn 9 km from Kapan, how many kilometers from Meghri... Who gave the right to issue a verbal order for us to retreat? I don't even know how much percentage of the Soviet Armenia administrative border we have already given to Azerbaijan," the MP said.

He emphasized that the Soviet village's post was located on the left side of the Goris-Kapan road, questioning how the post could be situated in Azerbaijani territory. "We have inquired whether Soviet Armenia gave up other territory for this area. Now, both this territory and that belong to Azerbaijan," Melkumyan noted.
