Tigran Avinyan Holds Consultation on Prosthetic Process for Disabled Soldiers

On January 21, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan chaired a consultation regarding the prosthetic process for disabled soldiers. In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister stated: "Dear colleagues, today we will discuss issues related to the prosthetics of disabled soldiers, which were particularly acute as a result of the war. It is essential to clarify the current situation in the field, considering the stages and procedures involved in the prosthetic process. We must address the key issues, including assessing current needs and capabilities, defining the special procedures for prosthetics, identifying beneficiaries, and issues related to attracting additional resources.

I would like to emphasize that the prosthetics of disabled soldiers is one of our top priorities, and this work must be carried out at the highest level. This is the least we can do for our servicemen who gave everything for the defense of the homeland. From this perspective, I value the proper assessment of our capabilities to gain a comprehensive understanding of the available resources. We must also recognize what expertise we lack in utilizing the best foreign practices and knowledge for the prosthetic process.

I particularly want to stress the importance of systematic work, where all involved entities must act with full responsibility, and the solutions found should meet the highest standards. Lastly, and most importantly, our disabled servicemen must receive an exceptional individualized approach based on the most accurate assessment of their individual needs, and we must also address all potential issues related to further servicing.

During the consultation, the current general situation regarding the prosthetic process was discussed, as well as ongoing work aimed at accurately tracking the numbers on a daily basis. A separate group of issues was presented concerning the organization of the prosthetic process for those injured during the war, including needs assessment and attracting additional financial resources.

A detailed discussion took place on utilizing local capabilities in the process in the context of incorporating international best practices. Tigran Avinyan outlined two key principles for carrying out the work: the establishment of high standards and, as necessary, prioritization and targeting in determining the sequence of individuals subject to prosthetics.

In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need for further servicing of the prosthetics as a key commitment. Relevant instructions were given to the departments concerning these issues.
