Roads in Syunik Region Are Difficult to Navigate: 820 Cargo Trucks Accumulated on the Russian Side of Lars
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountainous meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to Lake Kari are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers. The Navur-Ttujur section of the Berd-Jambarak road is closed for all types of vehicles. Roads in the Syunik region are difficult to navigate. In the Vardenis-Martuni section of the Gegharkunik region, on inter-community roads in the Aragatsotn region, and in the upper sections of the Tigranashen curves in the Ararat region, there is some black ice in places.
Regarding Lars, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Management Service and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is currently open only for passenger vehicles, and there are 820 cargo trucks accumulated on the Russian side. According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to prohibit foreign nationals from entering Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to cargo transportation. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
