Daily 30 Body Identification Examinations Conducted: Minister of Health
Since the beginning of the war, a total of 3,450 bodies have been admitted to the forensic medical center. This was reported by the newly appointed Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, during a conversation with reporters after the government session.
"We are currently able to conduct 30 body identification examinations daily. However, I must mention that the identification process has increased two to three times, as we have acquired a new device," said the minister.
On January 13, the Ministry of Health announced that it had acquired and already started operating an additional flow of forensic genetic identification research, which will enable a faster organization of the identification process for the bodies of the deceased.
It is noteworthy that during a Q&A session with the government in the National Assembly yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan did not provide specific numbers regarding the casualties or missing persons, stating that a final count would be reported by the Ministry of Defense when available. "The number of casualties will not exceed 4,000," he mentioned.
