Video: They Steal a Heating Boiler and Then Crash with a ‘VAZ-2107’

On January 16, early in the morning, a ‘VAZ-2107’ collided with an electrical pole at the intersection of Zakaryan and Army streets in Vanadzor. Before the crash, detectives from the Vanadzor Division of the Police received information that a theft was taking place in one of the houses on Typographers Street. An operational group was dispatched to the scene. The information provided by the detectives was confirmed.

The young men, seeing the police, had loaded the heating boiler into their vehicle and fled. The detectives pursued them. The ‘Zhiguli’, traveling at high speed, veered off the road and crashed into the electric pole, after which the youths attempted to dispose of the physical evidence by removing the boiler from the vehicle. They were apprehended on the spot and taken into custody by the Taron Division of the Police.

Subsequent measures revealed that they had removed boxes filled with household items from the basement of the house but had not managed to load them into the car. The ‘VAZ-2107’ has been moved to a designated secured area of the police division.

A criminal case has been initiated at the police regarding the incident, which has been forwarded to the territorial investigative department. The circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation.
