Video: Putin and Lukashenko Dunk Themselves in Ice Water for Christ's Baptism Day

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, adhering to the annual tradition, has plunged himself into ice water on the occasion of Christ's Baptism Day. This was reported by the news agency "RIA Novosti." On January 19, the Orthodox Church celebrates the baptism of the Lord.

The president entered a cross-shaped pool, crossed himself three times, and, as is customary, immersed himself in the water three times. A similar ritual was performed by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. He broke wood with an axe and then, wearing a white long shirt, also dunked himself in the ice water.

The Belarusian leader reportedly spent the evening at his residence near Minsk.
