The Number of Casualties Will Not Exceed 4000, Tigran Avinyan
The Vice Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Avinyan, assures that the figures circulating regarding the number of casualties from the war do not correspond to reality. Currently, 3439 bodies have been retrieved.
Avinyan stated this during a question-and-answer session with government members in the National Assembly. He emphasized that the information circulated by various circles regarding the number of casualties is not accurate and is exaggerated. "At this moment, we have retrieved 3439 bodies, of which 766 have not yet been identified, meaning they are in the DNA identification phase. In this process of identification, we are obtaining clearer data, and the final list will be published. There are also missing persons," the Vice Prime Minister said.
Avinyan did not specify a concrete number for either casualties or missing persons, noting that when he has the final number, it will be presented in a report by the Ministry of Defense. "The number of casualties will not exceed 4000," he noted.
According to Avinyan, the number of individuals needing amputations does not exceed 150. He stressed that soldiers who have suffered such injuries as a result of military operations will be provided with prosthetics according to the best standards, and the maintenance of the prosthetics will be ensured.
