Smoking While Driving Will Be Penalized with 0.5 Points
The Parliament has fully adopted in the second reading a bill proposed by the Government regarding amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which prohibits drivers from smoking while driving a personal vehicle. A penalty of 0.5 points will be applied for this violation. The bill was accepted with a vote of 82 in favor and 3 abstentions.
Violating the rules with light and sound signals in vehicles will result in the revocation of driving rights for a period of one year. In cases where the individual does not have the right to drive, a fine equivalent to two hundred times the established minimum wage will be imposed, along with the confiscation of any flashing lights and special sound signaling devices.
