Prosecutor's Office Denies Claims Regarding Deputy Prosecutor General
The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has denied reports about a conversation between Deputy Prosecutor General Gevorg Baghdasaryan and Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, as well as Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, following the January 19 court session of the case involving Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharian, and others. This was stated in a press release by the public relations department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The news outlet 'Yerevan Today' cited the 'Dejavu' Telegram channel and its 'source close to the prosecutor's office', claiming fabricated allegations about Deputy Prosecutor General Gevorg Baghdasaryan's psychological state after the court session and the supposed conversations that took place between him and the Prosecutor General, and later between the Prosecutor General and the Prime Minister, which have also been disseminated by other media outlets.
The content of this publication is described as an unsuccessful attempt at storytelling; otherwise, the 'source of information' should not have refrained from mentioning who or what participants were present in the presumed dramatic conversation in the Prosecutor General's office. In this regard, it is easy to understand why some are only interested in the phenomenon of greed and deception, using this criterion to make judgments about others.
We limit ourselves to merely recording that this evidently organized low-quality fabrication is a logical, yet unacceptable continuation of the provocations carried out in the courtroom the day before, along with the recent intensified propaganda and morally psychological pressures placed on the prosecutors of the case.
To better understand the psychological state of the Deputy Prosecutor General in relation to the court session, it is recommended to view the incident video again, ideally multiple times,” the statement said.
