Armenian Investigative Committee's Computer Technical Laboratory Equipped with Cutting-Edge Technology

Within the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed between the governments of the Republic of Armenia and the United States in 2001, and funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, the Computer Technical Laboratory of the Armenian Investigative Committee has been equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, computer systems, and software.

This information was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee. The newly acquired equipment will now enable the laboratory not only to conduct investigative actions in the laboratory, but also at crime scenes, allowing for the duplication of all available information from any storage device (computers, mobile phones, recording devices, etc.) on-site, without the risk of seizing computer systems and without the danger of altering or losing information.

Various types of advanced software have also been obtained, designed for expert examination of all types of computers, mobile phones, and recording devices, enabling the inspection, gathering, and recovery of information contained within their memory storage.

The improvement of the operations of the Investigative Committee's Computer Technical Laboratory and its continuous enhancement with the latest equipment and software will contribute to the increased effectiveness of criminal investigations, securing and solving crimes, the expedited return of seized computer systems to their owners, as well as saving state budget resources allocated for appointing computer technical expertise in expert institutions in Armenia.
