Agreement Reached on the Safety of the Yerevan-Kapan Road with Azerbaijan and Russia: Avinyan

The Armenian side has reached an agreement with the Azerbaijani and Russian sides regarding the safety of the Yerevan-Kapan highway. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Avinyan, during a question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly, in response to a question from Luminously Armenia faction member Srbuhi Grigoryan.

“At this moment, regarding the section of the road you mentioned, we have clear agreements with both the Azerbaijani and Russian sides, and Russian border troops are also present there. To date, we have not had any incidents involving transportation passing through that road section. We have no problems related to Syunik and, in general, the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, we have had no incidents, and I hope we will not have any in the future,” Avinyan stated.

Following the statement signed by the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia on November 10, new borders are being established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
