How Much Will Drivers Without a License Be Fined?

Drivers operating without a license will face a fine of 200,000 drams. The National Assembly of Armenia is currently discussing a draft bill concerning amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code.

Report presenter Armen Khachatryan reminded that following the implementation of the points-based penalty system, the maximum fine for drivers had been reduced to 25,000 drams. At the same time, a question arose about how to penalize those without a driver's license.

"This draft primarily addresses those questions. In such cases, a fine of 200,000 drams is proposed," Khachatryan stated.

Additionally, the main presenter, Deputy Chief of Police AraFIDANYAN, noted that one of the amendments also pertains to revoking points from drivers for violations recorded by police officers. This provision will come into effect on July 1, 2022.

Furthermore, during discussions, the fine for smoking in a vehicle was reduced, as per the proposal from MP Gevorg Gorgisyan of the Bright Armenia faction. Instead of losing one point, drivers will now lose 0.5 points.
