Death Recorded from Frostbite Today

Today, at least the first known case of death from frostbite has been recorded. Vahan Tumasyan, the director of the "Shirak" center, wrote on his Facebook page.

"A 70-year-old elderly woman, registered under the address of a small house, passed away. To be honest, I had set a principle that we would do everything to ensure that frostbite cases would not be recorded in Gyumri this year, but alas...:

We are currently clarifying the details; however, no one has approached us from her registered address with a request for firewood, and she also did not have an electricity consumption code in her name. It is possible that she was not actually living at the address where she was registered.

In any case, the elderly woman was buried today by the Gyumri municipality in a designated area of the "Shirak" cemetery for the homeless and unclaimed deceased.
