Constitutional Court Judges Received 13.4 Million AMD in Bonuses from January to August 2020

The Constitutional Court has summarized the volume of monetary bonuses awarded in 2020. Thus, for the first half of 2020, the total amount of bonuses allocated to the judges of the Constitutional Court for the months of January to June was 8.4 million AMD. In the second half of the year, from July to August, the total bonuses given to the judges amounted to 5 million AMD.

It should be noted that for the months of September, October, November, and December 2020, the judges of the Constitutional Court and the President of the Constitutional Court did not receive any monetary bonuses.

Regarding the staff of the Constitutional Court and the head of the staff, the total bonuses allocated for the first half of 2020 amounted to around 43.2 million AMD, while in the second half of 2020, it amounted to 49.2 million AMD. Of this, approximately 42.6 million AMD was allocated for July, August, and September, and in the period from October to December, 6.5 million AMD was allocated, of which 4.4 million AMD was designated for November's bonus at 30% of one month’s salary.

Additionally, 331,300 AMD was given in October for one employee, 337,600 AMD in November for one employee, and 1.4 million AMD in December for individual bonuses for 7 employees, ranging from 50% to 100% of one month’s salary.

Furthermore, in December 2020, the staff of the Constitutional Court and the head of the staff also received bonuses from the annual savings in salaries (the so-called 13th salary) totaling 23.5 million AMD. No bonus was allocated to the judges of the Constitutional Court and the President from the annual savings in salaries.

It is worth noting that over 106 million AMD has been saved from the financial resources allocated to the Constitutional Court from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, of which about 64.5 million AMD came from unused funds allocated for salaries and bonuses of the Constitutional Court. The total annual savings of the Constitutional Court were entirely directed to the reserve fund of the Armenian government.

Recall that the budget of 2020 allocated 721.2 million AMD to the Constitutional Court, of which 491.4 million AMD was intended for salaries, and 140.4 million AMD for bonuses.
