Black Ice Present on All Roads in Gegharkunik Province; Lars is Closed

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads in Armenia. In the Aragatsotn province, the roads from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and the road to Kari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for all vehicles due to black ice.

On the Yerevan-Sevan highway, from kilometers 16 to 39, as well as on all roads in Gegharkunik province, there are instances of black ice. In the Aragats region of Aragatsotn province, in the city of Sisian in Syunik province, and on the Saravan-Zanger section, black ice is present, with snow reported in Kotayk province (except for the city of Yeghvard) and in the 'Kyarki Turns' area of Ararat province.

Concerning Lars, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars highway is closed for all types of vehicles due to the risk of avalanches, with 450 loaded trucks already accumulated on the Russian side.

According to information from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the decision to restrict the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. This restriction does not apply to freight transportation. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
