Andranik Kocharyan: Discussions About Prisoners Will Only Hinder the Return Process

Andranik Kocharyan, the chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, believes that discussions about prisoners in Azerbaijan will only harm the process of their return. Kocharyan made this statement during his speech in the parliament.

“In recent days, my colleagues and I have met with the relatives of the missing persons, presenting them with the sequence of work being carried out to locate their children, as well as listening to their opinions regarding the situation. Discussions about prisoners are continuously taking place on various platforms, without realizing that this issue does not have a prompt solution and that these discussions will only hinder the process,” said Andranik Kocharyan.

Kocharyan noted that extensive work is currently underway to locate and return the missing and captured persons, involving their relatives as well. “Each of us should do our utmost to support the families of the fallen, those who are detained, and the missing,” emphasized the committee chairman.
