Vehicles Collide on Gyumri-Azatan Highway, Injured Hospitalized in Gyumri
On January 18, at 17:44, the Shirak Regional Crisis Management Center received a report of a traffic accident at the beginning of the Gyumri-Azatan highway, with injuries reported. This was announced by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been dispatched to the scene. It was revealed that at the 2nd kilometer of the Gyumri-Azatan highway, a collision occurred between a BMW X6 (driver: V. Y., born in 1971) and a Mercedes-Benz C280 (driver: N. M., born in 1989).
Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the passenger of the BMW X6, G. A. (born in 1973), was extracted from the vehicle by local forces and was hospitalized at the Gyumri Medical Center.
The rescuers disconnected the vehicles’ power, closed the valves of the gas cylinders, and safely removed the driver of the BMW X6 from the vehicle, assisting him to an ambulance vehicle, which also took him to the Gyumri Medical Center.
