Now is Not the Best Time to Raise the Issue of Artsakh's Status, Lavrov

In the future, discussions regarding the status of Artsakh will be possible, said Sergey Lavrov, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a meeting with journalists.

"I have great hope that emotions will take a back seat now. By the way, this is why now is not the best time to prioritize the issue of Artsakh's status; it remains for the future," he stated.

He assured that Russian peacekeepers will ensure the interests of both the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides. "And we must return to the status issue. The main point is that there should be specific, calm legal discussions between Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding the status, based on friendship, which we all need to restore in the region," Lavrov emphasized.
