Independent MP Critiques New Health Minister's Appointment

Independent MP Seyfiya Hovsepyan commented on the appointment of the new Minister of Health on her Facebook page, expressing hope that the information is false.

In an interview with ArmDaily.am, the MP elaborated that newly appointed Minister Anahit Avanesyan will continue the policy of secrecy established by Arsen Torosyan. “The philosophy of secrecy initiated by the Republican Party was continuously carried out by Arsen Torosyan, who I am confident will ensure that his successor, the deputy minister, completes this by closing all doors, meaning maternity hospitals, clinics, and other institutions. This psychological or ideological continuous working style is incomprehensible and unacceptable to me,” stated Hovsepyan.

She added that the new minister lacks the necessary qualifications. “She does not have the appropriate education; having been a deputy without a background in healthcare, she is now a minister. It’s not just about management; you must also have a deep understanding of the field,” concluded Seyfiya Hovsepyan.
