Ahmet Davutoğlu: 'Erdogan Will Soon Be Removed from Power'

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is under the 'military guardianship' of rebels and will soon be 'overthrown by their own hands,' stated Ahmet Davutoğlu, leader of the opposition 'Future' Party, as reported by Ahval.

"Erdogan is presently under the care of the remnants of February 28," remarked Davutoğlu, referencing the post-modern coup of 1997, during which the Islamist government of Necmettin Erbakan resigned under military pressure.

"I warn you, Mr. Erdogan will soon be thrown out. He is confused, and it will be very difficult for him to win the elections against the 'People's Alliance,'" he added.

Davutoğlu also accused Erdogan of pursuing a hypothetical policy that, according to him, is not based on principles.

The leader of the 'Future' Party criticized Erdogan for failing to wish well to his party's recently assaulted vice chairman, Selçuk Özdağ. He stated, "Erdogan did not take this attack seriously and did not even wish a speedy recovery to the legislator nor promised to find those responsible."

It is noteworthy that Selçuk Özdağ, the vice chairman of the 'Future' Party, was recently attacked in front of his house. He was assaulted by five individuals with wooden and cold weapons, resulting in injuries that required hospitalization.

Recall that after leaving Erdogan's ruling 'Justice and Development' Party in 2016 and resigning from the office of Prime Minister, Davutoğlu founded the 'Future' Party in December 2019.
