Arman Abovyan: 'My Step member went to Syunik and got beaten'

Gagik Tsarukyan's faction MP Arman Abovyan addressed the statement of ruling party MP Arpi Davoyan in the National Assembly today, in which the latter considered opposition forces to be a very serious issue for Armenia and declared that they exploit the most important issues in the country.

“It’s great that you have started to speak; your voices are already coming out. You say the opposition is a problem. The opposition will always be a problem; be prepared! We will be a problem for you, rest assured of that. We will not let you digest it. You talk about exploitation… What about the significant statuses you wrote—did you solve the issue of prisoners? What kind of exploitation are you talking about? You talk about the fact that Azerbaijan has a military budget of 2 billion 700 million, and you are discussing so-called ‘regressive ideas’ and peace? Is that what we are exploiting, or are we stating that you are incapable? You’re incapable, you can’t do it, you’re not adequate.

You talk about Syunik; I have nothing to say. You have MPs from Syunik, but a member elected from Syunik went to Syunik and, according to some information, got beaten. There are such things; you can ask among yourselves who went. That is also exploitation, right? When are you going to bring the kids back? Is that exploitation, too? What can I do, since this issue concerns everyone, apparently that question cannot be asked of you? Apparently, what you don’t like is exploitation,” said Abovyan.
