Vazgen Manukyan Confirms He Believes Events in Gyumri Were Organized, Real Gyumri Approaches Him in the Streets
The Prime Ministerial candidate of the 'Homeland Salvation Movement,' Vazgen Manukyan, met with residents of Vanadzor. At the beginning of the meeting, movement members emphasized that they demand the resignation of the government, after which a temporary government should be formed under Vazgen Manukyan's leadership.
According to Vazgen Manukyan, the current government has made several mistakes prior to, during, and after the war. He noted that with the right political strategies, it would have been possible to avoid the war, maintain strong positions for Armenia, and include several pro-Armenian points in the statement signed between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia.
Before the meeting began, Vazgen Manukyan, the first Prime Minister of Armenia, answered journalists' questions regarding the incident that occurred yesterday in Gyumri. He stated that 'those people are tarnishing the name of the Gyumri resident.' He openly shared that he considers himself half a Gyumri resident, as his mother is from Gyumri. He emphasized that the real Gyumri is one that 'fills the hall, approaches you in the street, and talks to you.'
Manukyan is confident that what happened yesterday in Gyumri was organized and claims to know who was behind it. 'There is someone in our yard who is homeless and collects bottles, not in an offensive sense, but people call them 'boms.' This morning he said, 'Mr. Manukyan, why have you insulted us by comparing us to those scoundrels?'
