Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan Reminds Naive Peace Advocates of Turkey's Affection for Peaceful Armenians
Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan took to his Facebook page to remind naive peace advocates and their supporters that Turks have a peculiar affection for peaceful individuals like Armenians. He stated, "One of the highest-ranking officials of the Republic of Armenia said today: ‘We must try to have lasting peace with all our neighbors. The region must finally have a human face.’ Now various experts claim that we will live in peace for a few years, strengthen ourselves, rearm, and achieve our share of victory. Excuse me, but I consider this line of thinking to be regressive and harmful."
The official referred to is Lena Nazaryan, who exhibits not regressive, but rather the most foolish perceptions about the surrounding region and Armenia's neighbors. She is not planning to strengthen Armenia again, as she considers it "harmful." The entire region is arming itself and preparing for a major war, while the Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly desires a peaceful region with a human face. It is hard to imagine greater absurdity.
Do you understand that such thoughts are also conveyed during negotiations with Iran or the Arab Emirates? Can you imagine, for example, the expressions on the faces of the Iranians hearing such nonsense?
Geghamyan went on to emphasize, “I must remind these naive peace advocates and their remaining supporters that Turks have a peculiar affection for peaceful Armenians.” In the same interview, he attempted to exploit the theme of casualties and called for the avoidance of new losses, referring to the victims of the April 2016 events and a few positional losses as the political flag under which the current authorities came to power, donning T-shirts with the image of Tigran the Great and the flag of Cilicia, while shouting slogans like “Artsakh is Armenia, and that’s final” in the center of Stepanakert.
These hypocritical authorities are deepening the current destruction of the Armenian state with each passing day. If you adapt to this reality, don’t be surprised if you find yourselves deprived of any chance of development in a few years.
