Head of Arabkir Police Investigative Department Injured in Accident; Father and Son Hospitalized
On January 16, an accident occurred in the Kotayk region. Around 08:40, two vehicles collided on the central street of the village of Kghs. The vehicles involved were an Opel driven by 47-year-old Mher Nersisyan, a resident of Hrazdan, and a VAZ 217030 driven by 22-year-old Hovik Harutyunyan from the village of Solak.
According to reports from shamshyan.com, as a result of the collision, driver H. Harutyunyan and his passenger, 7-year-old Hovik H., were taken to the Hrazdan Medical Center for medical assistance.
Officers from the 2nd Battalion of the 2nd Division of the Road Police arrived promptly at the scene, led by Battalion Commander Arthur Petrosyan and Platoon Commander Sargis Bagratyan.
The investigation at the site was directed by the senior investigator of the same battalion, Karel Baghyan, who is preparing materials regarding the incident.
According to G. Shamshyan, driver M. Nersisyan is the head of the Investigative Department of the Arabkir Police, while the injured taken to the hospital are father and son. The cause of the accident was the icy road, as local Jinshin employees had not taken any measures to clear the road of snow.
