VIDEO: The Wedding Was Not the Reason - Arman Sargsyan on His Dismissal as Police Chief
I have served in the police force for about 25 years and have always said that I will serve the country in any capacity, even without a position. For me, there was no principle that if I was the police chief, I could not be a second or third figure. Perhaps many perceive it differently, but I see no issue with that. Moreover, at this stage, it is a great honor for me to serve in the Ministry of Defense and contribute to the defense and security of the homeland.
This was stated by Arman Sargsyan in a conversation with journalists. Regarding the reasons for his dismissal from the position of police chief, Sargsyan noted that the assessment of his work was given by the Prime Minister of Armenia: “Let’s not overcomplicate things; there’s no need for that. Perhaps there was a coincidence of events. In any case, I will say that the wedding (referring to the wedding of Artak Davtyan's son) is not the reason.”
When asked if it was expected for him to receive a new position, Sargsyan replied that it was expected for him to serve the homeland in any capacity: “I assure you that I have made a significant contribution to solving several challenges in the organization of police services. I hope that in the Ministry of Defense, I will be able to and will do everything to bring great benefit to the state.”
