Residential Burglary Investigations in Karbi and Ghazaravan Villages by Police

The Ashtarak division of the police received operational data regarding residential burglaries, which were acted upon on January 12 and 13.

According to the Armenian Police, officers from the criminal investigation, juvenile affairs, and family violence prevention departments carried out joint operations, resulting in the apprehension of a 26-year-old resident of Ghazaravan village on January 12. Under pressure from evidence and through explanatory work, he confessed that at the end of December, he had secretly entered the home of a fellow villager and stolen a gold cross that had been pawned.

It was also revealed that in the same month, he had stolen a wallet containing 60,000 drams from another villager's home, and previously in the summer, he had also committed theft from a car parked on their street. Victims who had not previously reported the incidents to the police have now filed complaints.

The joint initiatives of the same departments yielded results again on January 13. This time, it was another theft for which no prior report or alert had been made. A 36-year-old woman was detained at the Ashtarak police department, where, in the presence of evidence, she confessed that on January 3, around 1 PM, she had pried open the window of a resident's house in Karbi village, entered, and stolen two mobile phones, a hairdryer, and some clothing. Most of the stolen items have been recovered. The circumstances of the cases are being clarified during the preliminary investigation.
