New Intensive Care Unit Opens at St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center
The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, participated in the opening ceremony of the new intensive care unit at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center. The unit is equipped with 40 intensive care beds, bringing the total to 120 beds when combined with the previous units. This is, in fact, the largest intensive care service in Armenia.
During his visit, Arsen Torosyan toured the new facility and familiarized himself with its equipment and capabilities. At the opening ceremony, Minister Torosyan met with the medical staff and expressed his gratitude for their hard and responsible work, especially over the past year.
"I want you to be assured that the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center is constantly in the spotlight of the Ministry of Health. I am confident that the positive reputation you have gained during this period will continue even after overcoming the coronavirus disease," stated the minister.
Continuing his remarks, Arsen Torosyan emphasized that the medical center is one of the unique state multi-profile institutions, offering services such as third-level maternity care, outpatient services, hemodialysis, and more. Despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, the center continues to undergo renovations and upgrades through state efforts.
New services have also been introduced during this time, such as blood bank services, and last year, the laboratory of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center was equipped with necessary equipment for conducting polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.
In concluding the meeting, the minister wished success to the staff of the medical center.
