Man Arrested for Defrauding Parents of Fallen Soldier

On January 13, at 22:05, a man from Hrazdan reported to the operational group of the Hrazdan Police Department. According to the official website of the Armenian Police, he stated that since the start of hostilities on October 1, he had not heard from his son, and about two months ago, his wife learned from somewhere that their son was in captivity.

A certain Harut had promised his wife that he could free their son from captivity for a fee, but by exploiting their trust, over the course of two months, he fraudulently acquired one and a half million drams transferred to him via a terminal. The man became convinced they were being deceived when he received news of his son's death.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. Through extensive operational-search measures, Hrazdan police officials managed to identify Harut. He has been located and arrested. An investigation is underway.
