Farewell to Arsen Torosyan? - Hraparak
According to newspaper reports, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan is set to be dismissed from his position in the near future. Our sources within the government have confirmed that he has already submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister.
The reasons for the resignation are not new, nor are they singular. The conflict between the Prime Minister and the Minister, which existed prior to the war, has intensified in the aftermath. During team meetings, Torosyan has stated that they have failed to manage the country and that it would be appropriate for those in power to resign following the defeat.
He is considered part of the so-called opposition wing of the ruling team. However, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that he does not intend to step down, and those who wish to leave have the door open before them.
This was reported by Hraparak newspaper.
It is noteworthy that during yesterday's government meeting, among the unreported projects, over 2.5 billion drams were allocated to the Ministry of Health from the government reserve fund to combat COVID-19. Remarkably, the expenses will be made through a banking payment card.
“It is stipulated that the costs for the implementation of comprehensive measures to prevent, control, treat and address the coronavirus infection in the Republic of Armenia will be carried out via banking payment cards,” the decision states. Out of this amount, 600 million drams are planned to reimburse expenses incurred on December 30 and 31, 2020.
