Every Student Given Opportunity to Visit Three Cultural Institutions for Free: Zhanna Andreasian
In 2021, every student attending general education schools is given the opportunity to visit three cultural institutions free of charge. This was stated by Zhanna Andreasian, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, on her Facebook page.
According to the order No. 24-A/2 of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia dated January 14, 2021, this year, every student in general education schools will have the opportunity to visit three cultural institutions—museum, theater, concert hall—free of charge. The program is designed for students and teachers of state general education schools from grades 1 to 12.
Through a subscription system, more than 386,000 students studying in the general education schools of the Republic of Armenia can participate in cultural events in their community or any other city in Armenia. The program guarantees the realization of students' rights to cultural education.
In the near future, necessary steps will be taken to closely link the subscription program with school curricula and to implement thematic and programmatic events in accordance with the curriculum of each class.
Meanwhile, dear directors and teachers, please familiarize yourselves with the list and try to guide students to attend events that best align with their educational curriculum, encouraging learning through this method as well. Make your suggestions on what types of performances and cultural events we need so that culture can assist you in learning and teaching, and the subscription program becomes an organic continuation of the school curriculum. The current list can be found here,” wrote Andreasian.
