Employees of the State Revenue Committee to Acquire the Right to Use Weapons
Employees of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) will gain the right to carry and use firearms. This information was disclosed by SRC Deputy Chairman Arshak Gasparyan during a session of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, while presenting a draft amendment to the law on firearms.
"The drafting of the law is prompted by the necessity to provide combat weapons to SRC employees," said Gasparyan. Initially, weapons will be allocated to SRC employees engaged in combating smuggling.
Gasparyan noted that a specific list of officials and the types of weapons they will have the right to use will be determined by a government decision. He added that SRC employees are already undergoing training for carrying firearms.
It is also worth mentioning that today's session approved the postponement of the application of penalty points on drivers until July 1, 2022.
