Boris Grachevsky, Artistic Director of 'Yeralash', Passes Away
Boris Grachevsky, the artistic director of the children's comedic series 'Yeralash', has passed away at the age of 72 after being hospitalized due to COVID-19. His wife, Yekaterina Belotserkovskaya, reported the news, according to TASS.
Grachevsky contracted the virus on December 21 and was hospitalized a week later at Hospital No. 52. On December 31, Belotserkovskaya stated that he was in a stable but serious condition and mentioned that her husband had been moved to the intensive care unit.
Born on March 18, 1949, in Moscow, Grachevsky graduated from the Kaliningrad Mechanical Technical School affiliated with the Korolev factory and later from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, specializing in film production organization. He worked as an administrator on films by directors Alexander Rou, Mark Donskoy, and Vasily Shukshin.
In 1974, Boris Grachevsky co-founded the children's comedic film series 'Yeralash' with playwright Alexander Khmelik.
