34 Thousand Citizens in Artsakh Left Homeless, Says Mane Tandilyan
The Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Migration of Artsakh, Mane Tandilyan, told RIA Novosti that a humanitarian crisis has emerged in Artsakh following the war.
"Since the war, we have faced a humanitarian crisis, and social issues have become very acute. We are addressing the issues through our efforts, the support of charitable organizations, as well as assistance from the Republic of Armenia and Russian peacekeepers," said Tandilyan.
According to the minister, the issue of finding housing for those who have lost their homes is particularly pressing, but the resettlement program for them has already begun to operate.
"Currently, approximately 34 thousand citizens of the Republic of Artsakh have been left without housing due to the escalation of conflict in the region and the transfer of territories to Baku's control," said Tandilyan in response to a journalist's question.
Tandilyan also reminded that on January 13, a soldier of the Defense Army was wounded by enemy fire and noted the existing security issues in Artsakh.
