«Mr. Prime Minister, was that the life you saved?» Parents of conscript soldiers protest
Parents of conscript soldiers continue to demand security guarantees for their sons' future service outside the government building. Some are also calling for the immediate release of their sons from service.
“We have come here to get answers from a government that has been avoiding us for a long time regarding the future of our boys. If the announcement to stop the war and save soldiers was not just a means to gather dividends, then Mr. Prime Minister, because of your negligence yesterday, we now have the death of a young soldier. His mother has been waiting for so long, but they did not grant her son leave... Was that your saved life? Not to mention the wounded boy as a result of a violation of the ceasefire. What guarantees do we have that our children will be safe? I demand the release of our boys,” said one of the parents.
It should be noted that three of the parents of conscript soldiers were invited to the government to hear their grievances.
Earlier, the parents had staged a protest near the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute, demanding that their children not be sent to Artsakh after their leave, as the roads are unsafe and they cannot be sure their children will reach their destination.
Recall that yesterday, on January 13, one soldier was wounded in Artsakh from enemy fire, 2000-born Vardan Vachagani Kirakosyan. The wounded soldier's condition is assessed as stable but serious. An investigation is underway to clarify the details of the incident.
