Iranian Athlete Donates Gold Medal to Family of Fallen Athlete Arthur Sukiasyan

Iranian athlete Ahmad Bagheripour, who won a gold medal at the 12th Open Kyokushin Karate Championship held in Armenia in October 2017, has decided to donate his gold medal as a tribute to the family of Armenian athlete Arthur Sukiasyan, who was killed during the 2020 Artsakh War.

Arthur Sukiasyan and Ahmad Bagheripour have competed together in several tournaments and developed a friendship. On January 13, the Iranian athlete handed his gold medal to Gohar Shahverdyan, the third secretary of the Armenian Embassy in Iran, with the aim of passing it on to Sukiasyan's family.
