VIDEO: Suspect Caught After Stealing from Jewelry Store, Police Reveal Details
On January 11, around 2:30 PM, the operational management center received a report at the Yeghgnadzor police department that an individual was fleeing from a jewelry store in Yeghgnadzor.
An operational group immediately headed to the scene. It was discovered that an unknown person had opened a rear window of the store-atelier using technical means, stolen silver jewelry worth about 400,000 AMD, and upon seeing a police officer from the Yeghgnadzor protective division, attempted to escape.
The department’s criminal investigation officers, in collaboration with police from the Vayots Dzor regional department and the protective division of Yeghgnadzor, gathered information that the theft was likely committed by a 27-year-old resident of Hermon village.
On the same day, the suspect was apprehended and taken to the Yeghgnadzor police department in his vehicle. From the car’s interior, 238 pieces of silver jewelry weighing a total of 1.4 kg were discovered.
The apprehended man provided a confession. It was also revealed that on January 11, he had entered a beauty salon on Momik Street through a window and left after finding neither cash nor valuable items.
Reports have been received from the victims. Circumstances are being clarified. The investigation is ongoing.
